The decision to begin therapy is an important step on your healing journey.

By building partnerships that are founded on warmth, dignity, and non-judgment, I help clients grow in a way that is most aligned with their values. Together, we focus on promoting wellness by acknowledging the past, respecting the present, identifying goals for the future, and developing the skills needed to joyfully move in that direction.

About

Who I am...

Hello, I am Dr. Richard Lopez, a clinical psychologist and former school psychologist. I use they/them and he/him pronouns. I have a diverse professional and personal background, which I use to bring great authenticity to the clients I support. I have experience working with adults, young adults, adolescents, children, and families. Therapeutically, I use behavioral, exposure, cognitive, and acceptance-based approaches that are evidence-based. I offer short-term and ongoing treatment for clients experiencing the following, but not limited to: obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, trauma, and depression. As a member of the queer and gender expansive community, I am passionate about providing accessible LGBTQ+ affirming care. I am experienced in treating a variety of concerns with the queer, gender diverse, diverse sexuality, and poly communities. As a former school psychologist, I spent over a decade providing direct services to children and families and can provide clinical services for school/behavioral issues, separation anxiety, parenting, autism spectrum disorder, and neurodiversity. I am an out-of-network provider and am happy to assist you in accessing your out-of-network benefits. Please use the Request Appointment icon, or call or email me to arrange a no-cost, 15-minute phone consultation. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
